180 Degrees Internship, 2022. Gained invaluable hands-on experience working with the talented team at 180 Degrees. Learned demolition techniques, operated a wide range of tools (hammers, drills, saws, etc.), and performed concrete work, including pouring, leveling, and framework assembly. Contributed to construction site prep, forklift operation, cleanup, and inspections while gaining experience in earthwork, irrigation, and basic electrical tasks like running ethernet cables.
In the office, I sorted files, profiled architectural samples, and participated in design and client meetings, observing how architectural visions are established and challenges are resolved. Assisted in transporting tools and finished pieces, further enhancing my understanding of the architectural and construction process. This internship deepened my respect for the craft and the dedication of the 180 team, and I hope to return to work with them again in the future.
