Mount Lemmon Research Center, 2022. Designed for my 301 studio with Teresa Rosano, this project envisions a research center for the Arizona Game and Fish Department on a steep mountaintop site. The program includes a laboratory, café, lobby, outdoor activity area, and visiting researcher offices and quarters. The design features a stunning atrium with trees cutting through the interior, and the curved structure is oriented to maximize sunlight in winter while keeping the space cool in summer. This was my first introduction to designing on a slope, presenting unique and rewarding challenges.
