Material Studies and Sumac Research, White Sands, 2024. For Professor Jesús Robles’s Last Nuclear Bomb Memorial options studio, Andy Demetriou and I created a Canva website to present and archive our post-trip research and material studies. We explored the properties of plaster of Paris made from White Sands gypsum and investigated the resilient Sumac trees growing in the dunes. Our project included mapping, diagramming, and early concept renders. This collaborative process was incredibly rewarding, and working with Andy made it even more meaningful.
