Picasso, Matisse, Dalí and the Mediterranean Midterm, 2024. Studying under Marta Darder at IAU Barcelona took art beyond the classroom into the city’s museums, streets, and hidden corners. Marta encouraged curiosity, conversation, and genuine connection to art rather than historical memorization. For my midterm, I scavenged discarded wood from city streets and construction sites, creating daily paintings in parks and museums. This meditative practice included writing journal entries on the back of each painting, deepening my connection to each place. We presented our artwork collectively in Marta’s studio, reflecting exploration, mindfulness, and creative growth.
