Film Photos in Berlin, 2024. Staying at a wildly themed music hotel along the river near where the Berlin Wall once stood set the tone for our time in the city. With its surreal 1960s vibe, bright pink interiors, curved plexiglass furniture, and music-themed elevators, the hotel was as memorable as the river views from our room. Exploring Berlin was a fascinating blend of history and vibrant modern culture. Each day, we crossed from East to West Berlin, marked by remnants of the Wall. Highlights included the Berliner Dome, the stunning new parliament building draped in vines, and a river cruise showcasing Berlin’s mix of restored and modern architecture, including a funny moment spent shooing away spiders onboard to the amusement of locals. Berlin’s nightlife and youth culture left a lasting impression. One night, my brother and I joined a crowd in a park, drinking and stargazing, where locals had set up makeshift recycling bins, showcasing a casual yet responsible sense of community. Berlin was the final highlight of our journey through Germany, an unforgettable mix of history, architecture, and lively spirit before heading back to Amsterdam and then London. Captured on 35mm film, these photos reflect the essence of Berlin’s contrasts and energy.
