Film Photos of Weissenhof Estate, 2024. Visiting the Weissenhof Estate was a dream come true after learning about it in architectural history class. While traveling through Germany with my dad and brother, I finally had the chance to explore and photograph its iconic buildings, especially those by Le Corbusier and Gropius. During our visit, we met a couple who had recently moved into one of Gropius’s buildings. They shared their experiences, describing the space as cozy, thoughtfully designed, and well-scaled for their family, complete with a charming rooftop garden. Despite past criticisms of these structures as impractical, hearing about their continued functionality and relevance in 2024 was inspiring. Captured on 35mm film, these photos highlight the enduring significance of the Weissenhof Estate and its place in modern architectural history.
