Film Photos in Budapest, 2024. After accidentally dropping my uncle’s film camera in Munich, I picked up an old Olympus OM-2 from a kind man at a small camera shop near Vienna’s train station. Despite not understanding German, I left with a loaded roll of color film and unknowingly shot the entire roll en route to Budapest while learning to use the camera. The photos didn’t turn out perfectly, but I appreciated the unexpected shift from the black-and-white shots I’d been taking throughout the trip.
In Budapest, I spent a full day at the Hungarian National Museum of Art on the Buda side, housed in a stunning historic building overlooking the river. The exhibitions were incredibly impressive and showcased the city’s rich cultural history. Captured on 35mm film, these photos document my transition into using the Olympus and my continued exploration of Budapest’s vibrant art and architecture.
