Earthcast Sawhorse Desk, 2023. The final result of the earthcast sawhorse table exceeded all expectations, blending innovative earthcasting techniques with precise woodworking and thoughtful design. The earth-cast concrete legs, inspired by earlier tile experiments, were scaled up and crafted to be self-standing, with internal connections meticulously engineered to support a Baltic birch tabletop. The integration of wood and concrete required careful craftsmanship to ensure structural stability while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. Collaborating with friends made the project even more meaningful, as their designs and marks are embedded in the final piece. This project has deepened my appreciation for the intersection of materials and techniques, inspiring future experiments in furniture design.
