Earthcasting
Earthcasting Workshop, 2022. During my time off from a summer internship, I set up an earthcasting workshop in my parents' backyard, inspired by my experiences at Cosanti Originals. Using methods studied in a book from the Arcosanti archives, I experimented with different casting techniques, refining each batch to improve results. The process was both challenging and rewarding, sparking further interest in incorporating earthcasting into future architectural endeavors.
The finished tiles, gifted to close friends upon returning to college, showcase intricate designs and the natural beauty of the casting process. While I’m still working on perfecting techniques like painting on the earth molds, this series was an exciting step in my exploration of this craft, and I look forward to more experiments in the future.
