Earthcasting
Tucson Earthcast Studies, 2023. This third round of earthcast tiles presented unique challenges, using soil sourced from Tucson instead of Phoenix. The markedly different texture of Tucson soil required adjustments in carving techniques and material handling. Experiments with mixing pigments into the earth were still splotchy, but attempts to incorporate plants yielded intriguing results. The process highlighted how regional soil differences impact the casting medium, and I look forward to further exploration and refinement.
